Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta gave his reaction on Monday to news that goalkeeper Victor Valdes is leaving the club, Pep Guardiola’s appointment as Bayern Munich manager and looked ahead to Thursday’s Copa del Rey quarter-final second leg against Malaga.

Andres Iniesta, Barcelona midfielder:
“When things don’t go the way you want them to you need to change that sensation. The draw during Copa del Rey and the defeat in the league last week is something we need to analyse and try to reverse it so it won’t happen again. There is still a lot ahead. There is still a big chunk of the season and also important games like Thursday’s (against Malaga). And we need all of our concentration focused on that.”

Andres Iniesta, Barcelona midfielder:
“I’ve already said that back when he (Pep Guardiola) didn’t have a team. The team he would choose would be greatly benefited from his decision. I have had him as coach and I can say that he is a great coach that teaches you a lot. And also the team around him is great. So in that respect I think that the fact that he will be coaching Bayern (Munich) is good news both for Bayern and also for the world of football in general.”

Andres Iniesta, Barcelona midfielder:
“My illusion is to be able to finish my career here. I have been here for a very long time and that is my goal. The only obstacle I could face playing here is that my level decreases. I’ve always said that the day I don’t play well or the club thinks that I won’t be here. But I hope that will happen in the long term.”
