The MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford (New Jersey) was the venue for Ernesto Valverde’s first game as FC Barcelona manager. The opposition, last season Champions League finalists Juventus. The result, a 2-1 victory, to get the US Tour and the 2017/18 season off to the perfect start.
Our cameras were there to catch every moment of the new coach’s big day, both in the build-up to the game and throughout the 90 minutes of play. And the resulting video will give you a fine idea of the way he lives the action from the touchline, issues his orders and reacts to everything that’s happening on the pitch.
And if this game is anything to go by, Valverde won’t be spending much of his match time sitting on the bench. Againt Juventus he was on his feet practically from start to finish.
