Barca's line up in attack should be: 1- Messi- Suarez-Dembele just cause Messi is left footed so he should play in right wing. So does Griezmann as he's also left footed player like Messi so he can't perfom well if Messi as already occupied his natural position in wing. Otherwise he could play as a stricker but With Suarez in the line up with Messi it won't work so well cause Suarez is a pure stricker he plays better there and if you use him as a left winger so you can't respect great things from him as he's not that technical and fast. So In this case Dembele is the perfect choice over Griezmann in left wing. 2- line up with Griezmann Messi is still possible but without Suarez. Just use Griezmann as a stricker in Suarez position upfront and Messi, Demebele in both wings. Second attack will be made of: Messi, Griezzmann, Dembele. (Fati and perez as other options in case of injuries or less important games.)

If griezmann was bought for purpose of playing on the wing that was an extreme waste of money. He was to be an replacement for Suarez and this coach just doesn’t want to replace Suarez.
Démbélé stretched the game by playing far left and that allowed Messi to be free in the middle. So yes he should started.
