2. EPIC Barcelona Food Tour (10 DELICIOUS Stops!) ?
⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯
Barcelona is an amazing place to eat! But here’s the thing – it can also be hard to eat well in Barcelona because it’s so touristy. There are just so many options, and lots of them literally are tourist traps. But happily there are also so many incredible places to eat and delicious things to taste and drink if you just know where to look.
In this video I take you to 10 of my favourite places to eat 10+ incredible bites. And we visit 3 famous neighbourhoods across the entire video. We go to the Born, the Gothic Quarter and La Barceloneta – three neighbourhoods that you have to visit, and we’ll eat delicious food in each!
And a number of places are places we visit on Devour Tour’s food tours – including our Tastes & Traditions of Barcelona Food Tour and our Tapas, Taverns & History Food Tour
Also, once you’ve watched this, be sure to check out my playlist of Barcelona videos – including my epic 9-stop Barcelona Tapas Crawl.
So, where do we go?
1. Granja Dulcinea for an incredible suizo (chocolate and cream!)
2. Mercado Santa Caterina: We visit Bar Joan for a fry-up breakfast and cava and Antonio Iberics for a fantastic selection of cured meats. Plus, we visit a stall for delicious escalivada.
3. Historic Casa Gispert for a selection of wood-roasted almonds, and chocolate treats
4. Hofmann Pastisseria for an insane marscapone croissant
5. La Campana for delicious turrón and horchata
6. Xarcutería La Pineda for vermouth and a selection of potato chips with Espinaler sauce, cheeses and salt-cured anchovies
7. Bodega La Palma for patatas bravas and red wine
8. Can Paixano for a delicious butifarra sandwich and also a pork loin and cheese sandwhich – all knocked back with their famous cava
9. La Cova Fumada for a bomba (it was invented here!), grilled squid and grilled sardines
10. Can Ramonet for a delicious seafood fideuá and drinking from the porrón!
Salut!

I loved making this EPIC food tour video! And my god I was stuffed by the end! Which of the 10 stops do you most want to visit? ??
Hi James, I'm going back to Barcelona in a few weeks and it's all your fault! Of these 10 places I only have been to Granja Dulcinea a couple of times. And read about La Cova Fumada. So I have to try them all! The only thing is that i don't think I can eat them all in a few hours during the tour. I better that a container or two for the "dog bags". Gracias ?
We have loved so many of your recommendations! One thing we discovered is that "Codol" is actually the maker of the macadamia nut coated in white and dark chocolate, and they make all the chocolate covered nuts sold here. They are very good, but just down the street at Bubo, they sell them with a salted nut inside, so you get that amazing sweet/salty combination in addition to the delicious macadamia flavor. They are unbelievable. Enjoy!
My first hours in Barcelona , ?
How can you eat so much and not put weight on?
Did not like the video because it made me real hungry ?
This guy looks like a little like Hugh Laurie and Ed Helms
Un guiri dándole consejos a un español de dónde cómer en Barcelona jajaja ole tú y gracias!!
churros is a different thing than melindros. LOVING your videos.
Hi James, i've watch all your video and tried all your recommendations from Madrid. We also went to Barcelona last month and follow your food recommendations. But im not lucky with Hofmann no more croissant when i went. But thanks much?
how come yoli has a catalan name being from Madrid?
Really excited to visit and taste Barcelona?
Will be coming next month for my mother's suprise 80th birthday! Can you suggest somewhere we can go?
Fish and meat lovers in our family. Thank you
Yes, the Tourist Trap you mention. I went into a restaurant near Parc Gruel because I saw locals in it. However, I was given a limited Tourist Menu, which did not have the dishes I saw on people's tables. I asked if the fish dish on the photo was what I saw on someone's table. He said yes. It wasn't. He wasn't interested or helpful. The one prawn I got in the bland fish dish was raw – they didn't care, they weren't going to see me again. Pisses me off when I think about that! I work in hospitality. I make sure I make foreigners feel welcome due to the language barrier and also to give them a good impression of our country.
Omg. I wish I'd seen this video before I went to Barcelona in April. Took a selfie outside Bar Joan cos my name is Joan (as in girl's name) Didn't eat there though… Went all that way, but felt overwhelmed I suppose, and didn't know where to start… Would have loved to have eaten that food, especially la bomba, squid and sardines. Oh and the mascarpone croissant…Great video!
Thanks for all the great tips! Looking forward to visiting in November 2019. Since there are tons of great places to eat, is it normal to take your left over food to go?
Someone told me that since paella is not a Catalan dish, so all the paella served in Barcelona is meant only for tourists.. do you agree?
It would be nice of you to inform the viewers that Joan is Catalan for Juan in Español
Hey guys LOVE your videos ?
Can you suggest a good sweet wine, we will be visiting Barcelona in October can’t wait!
Hi there, what a great vid, and BTW your wife is quite nice…..and what a good business/life partner
Estos son buenos sitios y muy buena comida , no como por la costa o en Madrid que engañan a los extranjeros
As a Barcelonan, I am very impressed!! Well done!
May I ask the reason behind El Xampanyet not being part of your list? Do you feel it's too touristy? Thanks!
I did not know the Spanish made 'turron'. Torrone was actually first made in Italy in the 15th century, in Cremona.
I kinda feel sick of the amount of food you guys devoured hahaha Salutacions des de Barcelona
