Legendary FC Barcelona player, manager and senior advisor Johan Cruyff died on March 24, and El Clásico was Barca’s first home game following his death. The Camp Nou put together a stunning tribute to one of the people most important to their club.
Cruyff wasn’t just a magnificent player. He helped transform the sport and Barça. First he did it on the field, then he did it off the field as the club’s manager. Even after he left the dugout, he was a constant presence at the Camp Nou and had a voice in club matters.
The captivating style with which Barcelona play, their philosophy and the way they emphasize the development of their young players were all influenced by the great Dutchman. Losing him is difficult for Barcelona, but his impact will be felt for generations.

Johan will be always linked to two clubs, Ajax and FC Barcelona. Such a shame that Ajax recognizes this, during the memorial of Johan, and, arrogant, FC Barcelona does not. Ajax and Barca should be together, but FC Barcelona thinks differently. I wish you well after Messi. Look at the Johan cruijf arena. The shirts of Ajax, FC Barcelona and Holland on the pitch. Not in camp nou. They are only busy with their own marketing over Johan's grave.
