Alejandro Moreno, Dan Thomas, Steve Nicol and Craig Burley of ESPN FC offer post-match analysis for Liverpool vs. Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League semifinals, which LFC won 4-0 to overturn a 3-0 first-leg loss thanks to goals from Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum. The topic at hand, though, is whether the loss means Lionel Messi is not the GOAT, or if someone else (Ernesto Valverde?) deserves the blame.

First of all. This years CL could’ve been Barca’s but Valdverde’s tactics are so bad, it doesn’t fit the Barca style of play. They rely on Messi too much. He tried his best, I don’t think the rest of the Barca squad did. Valdverde didn’t learn from last year, and Barca is going through a slump right now. We need a new manager, that actually cares about the club and the game.

It’s true that Messi gave up and stuff but try to think what he’s been through. He’s carried the shit out of Argentina and he’s starting to carry the club he plays in. He gave it his all and brought them to the semi final yet his teammates fail to perform. He’s been through this so many times and I think it’s damaging him.

Respect to Liverpool though. They fought well and hard.

Let's together report this channel under misleading category anyone we don't want this channel man they are like pieces of shit man.
Honestly speaking I'ma Ronaldo fan but if Messi plays good I really appreciate him as a great player..
But the way they defend Messi is like he is God and when it comes to Ronaldo they will be like nahh he is 34 and he is done..
What kinda bullshit is this…
If you guys are supposed to be pundits then you guys need to leave your favorite player mindset aside and share your insightful knowledge without biasing..man these people are like 10th grade student having crush on one single girl.. really man this channel is very embarrassing..
Let's report this channel..

CARTABLE KING says:

Honore Leandre says:

Jagroop Athwal says:

Conall Kearney says:

Zak Quirk says:

Hardly even a mention really on how Liverpool effected Messi? Okay then!

Ely Diaz says:

Messi didn't do shit.

Chris Anderson says:

The most annoying thing is that this conversation changes every week, let alone every year.

What we know is that Messi (alongside Ronaldo) has been the best player in the world for over a decade by a long shot. We know that he has won two trebles while being the main man. We know that he was the center piece of Guardiola era Barca, a team that Sir Alex said, “was the best team he’s ever seen.” We saw how he literally has changed the game of soccer forever.

Obviously CR7 fans have a compelling argument. As a hardcore Barca fan, I would be stupid to say that there’s no merit in a Ronaldo argument. I honestly believe there even, but I’d like my guy to be on top ?. But there’s no denying the greatness of CR7.

At the end of the day, a lot of uneducated people are making emotional arguments. Watch the games, know soccer and soccer history, and then have a solid debate. Messi has consistently won but he’s also lost. So has Ronaldo. No ones perfect, and this is what makes the debate fun.

TOTAL90 FUTBOL ACADEMY says:

So Ali, messi wasn’t served up by alba and decided to try a cutback instead of finishing with his right? He had plenty of chances and choked per usual.

P K says:

Van Dijk should win the Ball'on Dor…
Not Messi or Ronaldo.

He has a much harder job than either of them playing in a much better league… Having to stop world class attacking players week in week out…

Messi and Ronaldo just cry and whinge for the ball and walk around the pitch expecting the rest to do everything.

Van Dijk works for it!!! #trueinsipration

bibisha pokharel says:

Only messiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii can't win champion league. He needs better team. Who agree like here

aclock2 says:

1 bad Semi Final isn't enough to deny him.

Manoj Bhatta says:

L.Messsi is always GOAT.

Thula S says:

this video is total rubbish

persiansongz says:

The only thing you can compare Messi and Ronaldo is goalscoring, besides that it’s not even close Messi wins in everything besides Penalties and heading.

Better finisher/Better conversion ratio.
Better dribbler
Better free kick taker
Better passer/play maker

Amenhotep The Third says:

No, this game doesn't define him. His world cup record does and THAT is why he is not the goat. He is a great but not the greatest. He's been in one world cup final (I think), did nothing. Great players always rose to the world cup challenge. He is the best of a fairly average bunch, hence why he looks so much better.

Papa Jobe says:

The coach have to go for better Barcelona

Skanderbeg1455 says:

I think the Arrogance of some habe raised too much…

Kousthav Samui KS7 says:

Steve is a very shit man….

Its clear Messi doesn't score when they need him..
He scores when absolutely everything is going well

No Country For Normal Men says:

Barça = 5 UCLs in their club history … Ronaldo = 5 UCLs in his career (between 3 managers for 2 two teams in different leagues). Let Messi emerge from Pep Guardiola's shadow first. Lmao

Anthony Flores says:

Ronaldo fans r salty asf lmao Messi the ? Accept faxxxxxx
