Dear sir/madam,

Since I was a little guy, I play FIFA. I play both on- and offline tournaments and different game modes and I write you this e-mail to make you aware of one very big missing feature within the game.

It is ‘Connected Career Mode'. Maybe you have already heard of this need but I will give a summary of the missing feature where a petition already has been created. After this summary I give my personal tips to make this new feature a success.

Summary:
The Career Mode is one of the most traditional and most used game modes in the FIFA-series of EA Sports. In recent years, the criticism of this mode has been getting louder.
Always playing against computer-controlled teams is not diversified, the opponents in the transfer markets are operating without a clear concept and due to player training and youth scouts, it is possible to create a international top team within a few years- regardless with which club (and budget) and in which league you have started.
Online modes such as „Online Season“ or „Ultimate Team“ offer the better challenge here. Nobody is playing for themselves. Instead, you have a constant competition, with other, globally active FIFA players. Transferring this core idea to the career mode, will bring fresh impetus in this mode.

The goal of this petition is transferring the "Connected Franchise" mode, which is already available in the NHL or NFL games of EA Sports, to the FIFA career mode: "Connected Career"
The intention of „Connected Career“ is sharing your career mode with friends, people you know or any other participant in the global FIFA Communtity- if you want to. The basic structure and core idea of the career mode remains the same.
Everyone can select a team of their choice and manage their club from home. The significant difference: In the transfer market, there is now much more competition due to the other participants. In addition, the matches are no longer exclusively played against the computer but, depending on the number of participants, against other FIFA players who play the same career, but with a different team. Matches against managed clubs are played online against each other and matches against non-managed teams are played offline against the computer.
The central settings of the career (match duration, skill level etc.) are adjusted by the league leader in advance. He creates the career and invites other players to join it – if he wants to. If not, it is of course still possible to play a career on your own. If you want other people to join you can decide whether you want to offer a private (with password) or a public (everbody can participate) career. In addition, you can choose between "Cloud" (online) and "Local" (only on one device).
The league leader can also determine in which time period the career should progress. This setting can be changed during the season.
Examples:
Weekly = each participant plays until the next league game. Only after everybody has finished their next game and clicks “Ready to advance”, the career can continue. If someone takes too long, the league leader has the possibility to simulate all remaining games to continue the career.
Two-weekly/monthly= several games can be completed at a stretch.
Each career can be created according to personal wishes and preferences!
Play online against other players and find out who is the best manager- “Connected Career” makes it possible

Personal tips:
• Make for every team, different goals. For example: Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have the goal to be champion while Everton have to end 6th place or higher and Swansea at least 15th or higher. In this way, people don’t mind to play with less popular clubs because their don’t have the same goal.
• Make it possible to play at least 3 seasons at a time. In this way you can play with different team, leagues and you can play more, while you are waiting for example on other matches to be played by other participants.
• Make it an league leader option to play co-op seasons or invite guests per match.
• Make it an league leader option to play scheduled games when you want. For example: if I am online, just as two other participants, why not play the scheduled games already against each other.
• Make it possible to play for European tournament qualifications and relegations. And let participants join one European tournament directly after the season has ended. I know this is a difficult feature to develop but this makes it more exciting for every participant. Imagine you as a manager of Leicester City in the Champions League after an incredible season…
• There are several opportunities for EA to make money:
– Make it possible to pay for new players during transfer periods with real money (besides the budget from the club when starting a season)
– Make it possible to increase the club’s budget by buying in-game money with real money
– Make it possible to upgrade stadiums, (youth) trainers, doctors and lawyers (for bans etc.)
– Make it possible to stop an injury or ban in exchange for real money.
– Make it possible to make player modifications, like other shoes, long sleeves for real money
– Make it possible to pay for new players during transfer periods with real money (besides the budget from the club when starting a season)
– Make it possible to pay with different pay methods. For example, PayPal, Creditcard, SMS and a phone-number.
– Every participant has the possibility to check the updates and stats of other participants including:
* transfers
* current squad and formation
* the quality of their (youth) trainers, doctors and lawyers
* real-money transactions (this will encourage other participants)
• To have a good example, play and download the free-to-play mobile app called: Online Soccer Manager. This is a very good example of this idea for online career mode. Participants play two times against another participants (at home and away). You can not have the same players as other clubs. Every club has it's own goal per season, depending on the quality of the players and the budget of the club. Every club it has different levels of (youth) training staff, doctors and lawyers (for bans).
